Last updated

This policy explains what personal data is processed when you visit understand.finance, why it is processed and what rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Who is responsible

The data controller is Davide Leone. You can reach them at hello@understand.finance for any question about this policy or your data.

In short

  • You can read the whole site without an account, without giving your name and without filling in any form.
  • We do not use analytics tools, tracking pixels or social media plugins.
  • Fonts, scripts and images are served from our own server: your browser does not contact third parties such as Google Fonts.
  • The site currently shows no advertising and sets no cookies.

What data is processed

Server logs

Like every website, our server records basic technical data each time a page is requested: your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the referring page and your browser’s user agent. This is needed to deliver the site and to protect it from abuse.

  • Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
  • Who processes it: our hosting provider, OVHcloud (OVH SAS, France), on our behalf and within the EU.
  • How long: for the limited period set by the hosting provider, after which the logs are deleted.

Messages you send us

If you write to us by email, we use your address and your message only to reply and to follow up on your request.

  • Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering you (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
  • How long: no longer than needed to deal with your request.

Advertising

The site shows no advertising at present. If that changes, this policy will be updated before any advertising code is added, and you will be asked for consent wherever the law requires it.

We do not sell your data and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability and, where processing is based on consent, to withdraw that consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, write to hello@understand.finance.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. In Italy this is the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali; you can also contact the authority of the EU country where you live.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with an updated date.
